  • Description

" I designed the ATCF in 1986-87 inspired by my experience with military and security personnel in Central America and the United States.
I wanted to create a unique knife that was lightweight but strong, easily accessible and conveniently carried on various parts of clothing, completely corrosion proof, ambidextrous to open and close and operable with one hand.
The ATCF was the first tactical knife to be completely assembled with screws rather than pins and rivets
I invented the thumb disc for easy opening with either hand. This has become a widely copied feature of the ATCF and is used on many other knives by makers around the world.
The ATCF was the first pocket knife to use a checkered ramp on the top of he blade which matched the finger guard at the bottom of the handle when the blade is closed. This ramp and guard provide some protection and grip for the hand when the blade is opened and in use.
The ATCF used a pocket clip to keep it accessible in various positions on the body.

The ATCF is one of the most copied shapes in the the knife world. As I like to say:
“The ATCF is the classic shape that shaped an industry! ”
